I'm afraid I got a little carried away, haha :') if you want me to shorten it, I'll try. You don't have to pay extra since you only ordered three stanzasbut i won't say no if you do want to ;). Well, here goes... it's not like a bar song or anything, sorry. I got inspired and decided to write it from one of his parents' (possibly the mother's?) point of view..
a mother's lament.
i never did understand why
did that little dragon ever dare to fly
and swing and sway and dance
and fly away one day without a backwards glance
our clan was in danger, you see
it was a famine, actually
i didn't want him to starve and waste away
i knew he definitely couldn't stay
so i sent him to the great world unknown
he would one day have to leave on his own
to this day i am unsure what happened to him
he danced and left without a whim
oh yes, i hoped for his return and my heart pined
to see my dearest hatchling that i would never find
but never did he return day after day
and night after night, til' my scales turned gray
but the heart does mend
yes, i will go on til' my life does end
but never will forget that little dragon who danced
that left without a backwards glance

I can see that being a song or a story that he ran across on his journey, without really knowing that it was about him. He always felt connected to it... but could never understand why. So he gave it a tune and sang it as he went, unable to explain to others why it meant so much, yet knowing that it did. I like that idea. That's what I'm goin with. xD
