So I will admit, I was initially taken aback and not keen on this breed. But the genes look SO gorgeous I've come about in a hard U-turn, and today I splurged a full quarter of my savings to make this lovely:

These might be my new favorite dragon breed!! I love all the insectoid dragons, but these ones have a good chunkiness and geckoness too. And the woolly tert was so unexpected and so incredible. 10/10 no notes.

I wanted to include a visual, because there have been a lot of different types of negative responses and my disappointment was just in hoping for different Light aesthetic choices. Taking away my personal expectations/hopes for Light's ancient, these dragons are like I said, neat. They have fantastic art and design (and genes).
To preface the doodle below, this is not intended as a redline or critique on the art itself, this is just to illustrate features I would have loved on a light ancient and what I mean by how I see "Light aesthetic".

Lightweaver-ish or angular/sharper wings, long wispy elements like whiskers or bioluminescent lights and big ears. These things would have made this a top tier dragon for me, so I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope the next Light breed gets these sorts of things.
The most intensely Light aesthetic choice of creating the Eclipse gene just knocked the assignment out of the park. Absolute favorite gene to date, hope we get to see it on other dragons in the future too.

You may be forgetting, but the Brightshine Ancient Gene sroll kind of puts that into play for ancients. I have no doubt that next BSJ Everluxes'will get the gene, and pretty much give them the look that you're going for. (Except the tail part)

I think they grew on me even more, and I really am in love with their tertaries! I hope to see some of them on other ancients in the near future, and ones not crossing the lineart boundaries on moderns.
Wool on Veilspun would be so good praying hands emoji and so many of the terts... but this is me being a Veilspun lover flushed emoji
I love that Everluxes are super unique compared to what we've gotten so far, and their wings are so so bueno! I doooon't think I like the horn that they have, but I love the shapes of their antennae :)
The only thing I wish to see and get eventually, is some type of eye size toggle for all eye types released so far... so many of the existing breeds, modern or not, have very small eyes... Primal eyes for example look so small on Everlux. Same for innocent and we can barely see swirl (but this goes for other breeds, too...) even if it's like a paid toggle option like the mirroring I'd prefer it over not having this option. [emoji=everlux winking size=2]

It wouldn't add/change long ears, or sharper wings - but I'm also not looking for a tert to fix what I was hopeful for.
The Dragons are still cool on their own, they really are neat. Even if they weren't what I was hoping for originally, I still have a pair and plan for a second. I adore Eclipse and Rift as terts.
