I'm hoping they stay in NOTN personally :< I think it's a lot easier for people to get them that way, since it's easier (at least in my opinion) to coli grind for awhile than it is to make treasure quick. Plus I liked being able to get a buncha bears at once, and I'll be sad to see them trapped in Joxar's so I can only get one or two a month.
Edit: I know the bears have been devalued at this point from their abundance during NOTN, but I think this would make it even more frustrating to people if they spent 80k on a Jox Box and got a bear they didn't want.
I vote for retiring the bears completely for awhile. There's enough of them on the supply side to keep the prices down for newbies. The precident would be the guardian familiars. They were released and then retired two years ago and most of them are under 100kt in the auction house.

take the bears entirely out of chests and put them in the MP for the normal MP familiar price of 10-20kt...That way it is still obtainable/affordable for newbies, but older players need never see them ever again.

New players aren't scrambling to get their bears before they disappear and older players don't have to look twice at them; a perfectly agreeable solution !

It's funny there are people who want all bears all the time, when I honestly just want them retired forever.
I think NoTN should offer a second chance to get the previous year's familiars (not the CURRENT year's familiars), with them all retiring or being sent to Jox Boxes after. When we were first asked to vote on whether festival familiars should come back in December, before the first NoTN, I feel like that's what the implication was--NOT that the same set of familiars would come back every single year, over and over, while the familiars in the proceeding years still retire permanently after each festival.
At one point I had 84 of one type of bear. I almost had a full stack of a FESTIVAL FAMILIAR. That was never what anyone wanted when we said we would like a second chance to get a festival familiar.

When the Bears first came out, I was excited for NotN. I was especially excited at the prospect that the next year, we would get recolors of the next familiar set - which didn't happen. I was baffled and annoyed. I really LOVE the recolors. I do NOT like the release of festival items that we had to work hard for just dropping at huge rates months after. All that work was for nothing... it's making it hard for me to keep logging in, even during festivals. I've been here since the Kickstarter. I'm still excited for NotN this year, but that's because I know we'll get a bunch of new familiars again. : D I'll be even more excited if the Bears go into Joxar's box.

I voted for bears in the chests but honestly MP the bears sounds far better!
I don't understand why when we voted for festive familiars to return that that only meant one year's familiars. That's not what I voted for...and only now we receive Sprite familiar recolors. Great, nice step. I thought that was what NotN was going to be, imposters of the prior festivals fams. Having the bears go to the mp is a great solution to the new/old player unbalance. They were great the first go around but have severely devalues along side the first NotN fams. If the old fams cycled into the MP I think it balance everything out nicely and not undervalue the chests or lead to player frustration. Now price wise 10k to 20k sounds reasonable, maybe lower because I know there's a ton of players still with stacks of NotN fodder priced fams.

As a number of others have stated, I'd rather end up with a bear from the box than a crown. At least the bears are meltable, what am I supposed to do with a crown I can't sell or turn into slime? Although I would be rather disappointed to receive either to be honest.
Maybe it would be worth considering making the crowns meltable at least?
