We're open! Mostly! The [url=https://www1.flightrising.com/forums/adopt/3112071/1]first page[/url] is now a proper intro and has links and info for all the good stuff.
Here's what's left:
[LIST]
[*]Testing! I need other people to run through this stuff and help me figure out what needs tweaked. Your feedback is a huge help [emoji=familiar heart size=1]
[*]Polish! The UIs are a little rough right now, hopefully usable
[*]More content! There's around 50 plant bases, 45 palettes, and 5 catalog items. More plants coming from me. It's a great time to submit catalog stuff, get a place right at the top of the post ;)
[*]The "Advanced Info" section is a horrific mess right now, I'll clean that up!
[/LIST]
There's now a true pinglist, so please [url=https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hRRORa6H820mWH-G0Ed11M9NNS-JCr-Yr53dogg-eRA/edit?usp=sharing]add yourself[/url] if you'd like to get updates!
And I also want to seriously, sincerely thank you for signing up for the ping. Every time I came back to FR and saw someone had posted here, it was a massive morale boost. It's pretty easy to get discouraged when working on something this sprawling, and the knowledge that people were interested is what got me through. Thank you again!

This is seriously cool!! Such a fun concept and I applaud the work you've put into it <3 I'm making gardens already.
I will confess that the claim button on the main generator page isn't working for me– it just opens an "about: blank" tab.

your example gardens have plants overlapping and in certain cases it'll look very good, but im wondering if there'd be a way to disable it for certain plants or all together. never worked with javascript so i don't know the limitations of these sort of programs but just bringing it up as an observation, no harm in rolling again i just got a seed where half my plants were overlapping lol. also seconding that the claim button isn't working, if it happens to be a browser issue i'll say im using chrome.

i may have added a few plants to the garden generator:

i'm having trouble getting a link that can be used in bbcode when you claim a garden (which i assume is the use of the claim button?)
when you add a metric ton of plants into the generator the grass eventually just gives up
ex: [img]https://i.imgur.com/7kV9GnN.png[/img]
maybe a limit on how many seeds can be put into the garden generator would be good? i'm not sure if it's my laptop or the website but when I add a bunch of seeds the website takes a minute to generate the garden
(i don't mean to spam and i'll stop adding so many plants sorry)

Thank you all for the bug reports so far! The "claim not working" thing is, you guessed it, a browser issue. I did my testing in Firefox and only checked the layouts in Chrome...doof.
It [i]should[/i] now be working. In addition, the fix used let me add some instructions to the exported image. Sadly, it does need to be "hosted" in some form (I just dump to Discord) since places like FR don't take an arbitrary DataURL [s]yet[/s]. I did throw one at the bottom of the post for giggles, though :D
@voidbeast On the plant overlap--I'm on it! It's buried in the advanced features dump, but I was planning a "smart spacing" option, I just wasn't sure if there'd be interest. Sounds like there is! Basically, I'll try to keep plants some ways away from each other based on how many there are. Would that help out?
@getyourghost On the generator overload--fun fact! The grass giving out is actually likely caused by a malformed seed. I caused plenty by double-pasting commas, creating "empty seeds". Warning the user when the code sees one isn't impossible, it's just a little gawky.
I probably won't enforce a hard cap on seed count. Same as a lot of tools--if someone wants to do something wild, who am I to police it? :) I could make it run significantly faster by only calculating plants once. Right now, every time a plant is placed, it's given a chance to randomize where its flowers appear, which is good for most of the cases (since it gives you things like a nicely varied carpet of grass) but bad when you're pushing hard with the seeds.
And no need to apologize at all! This is really useful, and I genuinely appreciate it!
Alright FR, do your best...

Yayyyy! After saving & uploading to imgur i present: my garden-in-progress :)
[img]https://i.imgur.com/GS6k85K.png[/img]
I'm excited to get more seeds & hopefully make it more colour cohesive.
Seconding the interest in some form of built-in spacing!
(pffff hahah i love the maximum plants garden, i never would have thought of that)
Yayyyy! After saving & uploading to imgur i present: my garden-in-progress :)
I'm excited to get more seeds & hopefully make it more colour cohesive.

yeah when i was messing around earlier i only input one of each plant and kept them default (i suppose i won't be the best beta tester since im waiting for more plants so i can get a better idea of what type of gardens to generate), i took a screencap so i can explain better what might work.

because the land portion is so large, maybe something like 15-20 plants or objects is when you can start allowing objects to be placed on top of each other. or maybe if there's an ability to differentiate between object height, i have 10 objects but the grass, orange plant, and pink plant are all the same height so its hard to tell just how many plants landed there. again i don't know the limitations of the program or what's considered too much work to bother with, but i think maybe giving each object parameters for which objects they can overlap with would be good. disallowing stuff with the same height to be overlapped but allowing a grass to appear in front of or behind a tree (like on the right of my image). i know i can type a little odd so hopefully this and any further input makes sense! [s]you say this in your post about the smart spacing whoops[/s]
