Galen's egg was lost during a violent storm and landed in the rockbed of a shallow stream. The sun's warmth on the rocks incubated it until Galen hatched, alone. Believing the flowing water to be his mother, he stayed in isolation where he was hatched. His coloring gave him perfect camouflage for hunting and hiding which furthered his solitude.

When he met his future clan, it was by accident while chasing his favorite frog snack. His interest in learning about his fellow dragons drove him to return to the clan with increasing frequency until he decided to stay permanently. Galen seeks to understand his fellow dragons and enjoys prodding his clan-mates for their thoughts and opinions. Because of this, he is regarded as a confidant and sometimes refereed to as 'the listener.'



Galen kept his beliefs surrounding his origin secret until he felt more familiar with the clan. After sharing his view with Alon and Pascal without consequence, he allowed the others to know. Though most scoffed inwardly at the notion as silly, the idea has taken root in the clan. Now many dragons secretly regard some element of nature as their totem and few even refer to it as their 'guiding mother.' None have admitted this yet to Galen but he may already know...

Recently Galen found a smooth river stone. Upon closer inspection, he could see that it was an egg. Perhaps another child of the river?
