Biography

Ignatius the Second. First born of Flames, herself first born of the progenitor of the Flametouched. A Fire Faether, and the strongest of these strange spirits the clan has ever seen.

If ever there was the case to say that Faether are more elemental than dragon, this one embodies it. Ripples of flame cascade from the patterned spirals, and the tips of his frills, tail, and wings dance with living flame. Naturally, his mastery over the flame is unsurpassed, and it bends to his every whim. He is utterly driven to create, channeling his need to burn into the forges and whirling with fury when things don't meet his standards of perfection. Ember may found one of her best pupils yet. The clan have been grooming him as their Fire Ambassador - none within the clan have yet wanted to take that mantle. Ignatius, though prideful, is charismatic, and a lot of Fae find themselves drawn to his leadership. Moths to the flame, as it were...

Ignatius bears the ego of his grandfather, and has a tendency to look down on his fellow Faether. He still believes that the deities themselves blessed his line, but at least now extends that thought to his fellow Faether. They'll have to squash the arrogance out of his upbringing yet, but for now at least the Faeclaw have a Fire Faether that doesn't want to kill them.

The Story So Far...
Ignatius, the First Flametouched
When the clan began their quest to find the Faether, they never thought that the Faether might try to find them.

The first Ignatius always knew he was special. Born to Nocturne parents, his egg exploded in a flashover of fire and smoke, body rapidly twisting into that of the Fae form. Long afterwards fire flickered over his crest tips and tail, a permanent light that will not go out. Perhaps, he thought, the Flamebringer herself had touched him in the egg, granting him eternal fire. And when his first progeny hatched in a brilliant explosion of fire, he knew. He and his line were blessed by the very gods.

Which is why when he learned of the Faether, he near-descended upon the clan with unholy rage. How dare these pretenders insult his power, insult the Flamebringer! Ignatius plotted to destroy them but was, in the end, unsuccessful. Roundly defeated by the combined efforts of Shale and Gloom, the ferocious Fae was forcibly dragged to the lair of the Flamebringer and turned over.

Flames, Daughter of the Flametouched
Flames was one the first-born of Ignatius; the first of his line of Fire Faether. She had it beaten into her head all her life that she is strong superior; fiercely proud as a result. Like him she too plotted to assault the clan, and chose for herself a mate that ensured further Fire Faether were born.

Her father at first was displeased with her chosen mate - his genes, he thought, were not those that carried the power of his bloodline. He was wrong. Their first nest, however, proved him more than wrong. All three bred true; a nest that exploded in a gout of lava and flame pouring down the nearby mountain side, setting off wildfires. The first born Ignatius named after himself, for he saw the sheer power in this new young Fae...

The assault on the clan's Faether, when it happened, was swift and brutal. Most of of the Faether were weak to fire and quickly fell. It took the combined effort of Shale and Gloom to fight off the threat. In the end though, the line was scattered - Ignatius himself turned over to the deities, Flames and her partner escaping to another clan. Only one remained - a small hatchling they found waiting for them at their lair, spitting fire and flames at them furiously. It took the other Faether days (and food) to convince him that they were friends. Thus did Ignatius's line finally join them in the end.
