Aghi
~Trainer~

Aghi is one of the Outpost's oldest dragons. She is a formidable dragoness in a of a class of her own and not just due to her quick temper. She holds the Headship of the Recruitment Section of the Clan and rules it with an iron fist - no slackers are tolerated and...

"All recruits had damn well better leave this Clan with a chance at survival, or so help me Plaguebringer, I will break your wings to ensure you don't go anywhere until I damn well say you are ready!!"

You see, Aghi has reached that grand old age where she is all the more terrifying for still being hale and healthy. That age where some dragons just give up on being appropriate and start doing and saying whatever the shade they want, because they have a deity-damned right to, after making it this far.

Aghi is just special in how she has never cared a single bit about how others have thought of her, so it's not much of a difference, really. Except in the fact that when she spoke her (significantly dry, scathing, disturbing and sarcastic) mind when she was younger, she was seen as a rebel, a delinquent and a hazard - now when she does it, everyone goes "yes, ma'm; certainly, ma'm; as you say, ma'm" and she finds their grovelling infinitely amusing.

She's only grown more dangerous, after all.

Those who do not know her either quickly grow to do so, or leave, hurt, angered and possibly wounded. Aghi does not tolerate fools ~~they die too easily and she is sick and tired of watching dragons die~~, and in her mind most dragons are fools.

If they are willing to educate themselves and strive further - to become more than they are - she happily helps them, but if not she drives them out or kills them herself, depending on their preferred brand of foolishness; less bloodshed that way.

Naturally, since she has been a member of the Outpost since its conception, the Clan hosts no such fools and has, as a whole, learnt not to fear her - to roll with her punches and sass or shout right back at her (alternatively snap to attention and do as they are told, depending on the situation).

Aghi never really intends to do harm, after all. She just wants everyone to be strong enough to survive when something happens. She is a Plague dragon to her very core despite happily serving the Lightweaver, and in her own words:

"Plague magic is the magic of perseverance and overcoming and conquering, the art of taking all contaminants, bacteria, viruses, poisons, venoms and other perils into yourself and winning. It is the ability to take all the obstacles in your path and turn them into tools, into weapons for yourself to wield as you deem necessary.”

That is the gift she wants to give her Clan. The gift of Plague - the gift of survival.

So that if they are ever left on a battlefield as she was, broken and alone and dying, watching their enemies approach with tools in hand slither closer through the mud and gore, knives glinting, claws of her brothers and sisters hanging at their throats like trophies, ready to slit their throats and harvest them for parts, they will dig that much deeper. If they are ever there, Aghi wants them to be able to find that last well of strength and drain it dry so that they can return home.

Trivia

Aghi is: Paranoid, Sadistic, Protective, Hoarding, Gleeful, Blunt, Foul-mouthed.
She is one of Odin's subordinates in the External Affairs branch, holding the Headship of the Recruitment Section as the Training Mistress. She works with: Tracking, Transport, Heavy Combat, Minor Equipment, Training, Leadership.
Aghi's name means "terror". History remembers her as "The Red Reaper".
She is mated to Regin and Aevi, mother to Rata, and has adopted Loke as a nephew and Knud and Sindri as her sons. This in turn means that she is the grandaunt of Ketilmaer, the mother-in-law of Ithunn, the grandmother of Freyja, grandmother-in-law to Runi, great grandmother to Brenna and Heimdall and mother-in-law of Sigvarra.
Magnhild, Geir and Hillevi are favoured students of hers (not that she lets it show).
She is capable of leeching the vitality of others in a particularly tricky manifestation of her innate Plague magic combined with her Imperial nature - in other words, as long as she is killing, she is not dying, which is a slightly frightening prospect.
Almost all Plague dragons scavenge and hoard to some extent - the traits are inherited for the sake of survival in their barren homeland - but Aghi's tendencies have been driven to frightening proportions due to the trauma of the Beastclan war. If she hadn't trusted her mates with the organisation of the loot she brings back from her various and frequent excursions around Sornieth, it would doubtlessly have overrun the Outpost a long time ago.
Regin and Aevi stores what of her hoard that is useful and isn't of scholarly interest in the Outpost's underground catacombs, neatly ordered by type. With Aghi's blanket permission (as she likes it when her hoard gets to be useful), almost all parts of it can be loaned or given to any dragon in the clan who might have need of something; they need just ask any of the mated trio about it.
Aghi keeps a core of her hoard for herself, however. It's a bewildering mix of items she or her mates actually have use for themselves, useless junk and things of extreme sentimental value. The trio's lair is a bit of a mess due to this, as Aghi likes to bury herself so deeply into her hoard when she sleeps that not a single scale is showing. It helps her feel safe.
Her mates, family and students admittedly enable her hoarding behaviour by gifting her things. It just makes her so happy, how could they not? The preferred gift is scarves, blankets, quilts, pillows and other soft things that smell like them to add to her sleep-hoard.
