Calipsa

The goddess of the moon, Calipsa had often been feared by dragons everywhere. Thought to be cold-hearted and cruel, Calipsa suffered hatred for centuries, never trusted or understood by dragons or gods alike. She was by far the tamest of all the gods, always an observer, watching and interfering when she felt it was necessary. The night the sky began to fall because of the dark entities Calipsa and the other gods had been trying to fight for centuries. Calipsa didn’t hesitate to put herself in harm’s way to save the dragons below, even if it cost her her divinity.

She even convinced the god of the sun, Aven, to join her. At first, he was skeptical, then gave in, realizing the heart behind Calipsa’s offer. None of the other gods joined them, though they tried repeatedly to persuade them. Even though they saved Sorneith, they paid the cost. Their divine power was stripped from them, leaving only a fraction of what they had once possessed.

Calipsa always had some sort of a crush on Aven—and he, too—but lies about Calipsa were spun by other gods who were jealous. As it was, the sun could never love the moon. But now, both very nearly mortal, could live normal lives, which they did.
