Arariel

Arariel and his brother Arkas were born shortly before the fall of the Commune, and as such Arariel does not remember it. He does remember his mother, though, skittish as she always was. She was always afraid of something, and he and Arkas could both always tell, even if she tried to hide it from them. Arariel grew fiercely protective of her and the rest of his family by proxy, quickly deciding that he wanted to train in combat. He wanted to join the Vapormasks at first, donning a helmet to substitute for the specialized masks that mark their group, but he grew attached to the helmet and decided to become a normal hunter instead. He found himself a lightning sword to use as his main weapon, which he wields expertly (and matches his brother's stormsilk, which he thinks of as a demonstration of their bond as siblings).

Arariel is protective as he always is, to the point of being self-sacrificing. He almost seems to have inherited his mother's paranoia, though there are no signs of the Unknowable managing to find him (the prophets have checked him repeatedly just to make sure). He is always tense, always keeping busy, always helping train other dragons or maintaining his sword. He checks in with his loved ones often, checking to see if they need anything.

He was close with Khamael since they were both hatchlings, often play-fighting and roughhousing together. When Arariel started his combat training and chose to wear his helmet, Khamael joined him and found a similar helmet for herself. They pair were frequent sparring partners (still are), and worked so well together that they would often lead runs together. It was after a particularly dangerous run that nearly killed Khamael that Arariel declared his love for her, which was a feeling she had reciprocated for some time. The only battle couple stronger than them are Phanuel and InfestedDiamond.
