DREAMERS
For dragons that seek knowledge from beyond without suffering madness (or learning geometry), the safest starting point is the well-documented dimension parallel to Sornieth. This place is known as "Dreamland," since some dragons are born with the innate ability to reach it in their sleep. These "dreamers" can enhance their skill through practice or sleeping potions. In contrast, they can also repress this talent if they do not exercise it often enough. Dreamland contains many places that used to exist in Sornieth but somehow slipped through to this other dimension. Dreamers seeking weirder mysteries can find the "gates" in Dreamland that open to further dimensions. To move to the next dimension, the dragon must discover the correct "key," which is usually mental but can sometimes have physical manifestations. Because of the ever-increasing complexity and danger of these dimensions, almost all dragons who attempt this process will go mad or die long before they can find the Yog-Sothoth and the final gate.
