Biography
Miraj Mirek
Illusionist
 As stubborn as he is, Miraj has learned to use his more awkward circumstances to his benefit. Holding his pearl in his "mouth" while transformed, he will make his way around a room that is not his own, settling down among other dragons belongings just so he can listen in on private conversations or any particularly amusing gossip. Despite the impression others have of him, the dwarf dragon is a cunning (if not bitter) little spy with a strong sense of justice (i.e revenge), and it is always unwise to tease or torment him, lest someone want all their darkest secrets revealed to the community. 
He has a fondness for fairies, butterflies, & moths. The jewel moth in particular is just too cute for him to eat, and he will often steal them from other dragons to set them free. Some suspect he feels a deep emotional connection to these insects, as if they were his spirit animal. |
A [subspecies] from the northernmost isles of the Crystalspine Reaches, Miraj is a particularly unexpected little dragon. Often mistaken for a hatchling or even one of the uncommon messenger species like Edgar, Pearl or Spitfire, he takes great offense at the confusion. So great is his stress over the subject of his stature among "outsiders", that early in life he decided to hone his magic and focus it almost solely on illusionary and transformative spells. In fact, one of his first tricks was to turn himself into a mimic. He claims it was a choice based on months of reflection... but it was in fact the result of a dare he refused to back down from; "Either you turn into a chest, or I'll put you in one." 
Indeed, it was a great day and mighty accomplishment for him... although he was, for a time, stuck that way for days on end. This unfortunate problem did benefit him eventually, as he learned to move and behave quite convincingly. He later called these experiences "The Great & Uncommon Art of Mimicking the Mimic," & proceeded to write a book about it. He only sold 5 copies. Miraj has never been one for admitting defeat, and will struggle in defiance of everyone's offers of help until he finds his own resolution. Even if it means spending hours or days stuck in a room because treasure chests do not have hands to open doors...

Among the dragons of Khuleborough, Miraj made his best friendships among the company of Lydorune and Gertoe Tummithae. Two fellow Arcane's of the northern reaches, their eccentricities seem to mirror his own. And in while doing so, he has learned a great deal from both, in patience, determination and magical skills. |
