Biography

Arctic is a 2nd Gen hatched from the Progenitor dragons Pacific and Atlantic! When she hatched she was Robin/Red/Sable with Unusual Arcane Eyes and wrought/spire/wavecrest genes. Her only hatchmate is Indian. All of the dragons in this family line are named after the Oceans of the world!

Fun Arctic Facts
The Arctic Ocean is the smallest earth Ocean, but is still FIVE TIMES as large as the largest earth sea! It is often argued to be a part of the Atlantic because most of the Arctic ocean is surrounded by the world's land masses and the primary connection from it to the rest of the global water is a single channel known as the Fram Strait. The Arctic Ocean is known for being covered in thick ice. Young ice is more grey in color and is less than a year old and bluer ice is at least a year old, and denser! This is due to the freezing process pushing out the salt and other impurities. The bluer and harder the ice, the cleaner and fresher the water it will be when melted!

The water circulation created by warm Atlantic water being pushed down when entering Arctic basins and the resulting outflow of cold water is really important to the overall mean temperature of the world oceans. A rapid melting of the ice pack adds increased amounts of cold freshwater to the rest of the oceans and could destabilize the overall temperature regulation and salinity of all other oceans. Rising sea levels and a large, eventual shift in the oceanic ecosystems could occur as long term effects from the global warming causing the ice melt. We just need to remember: be kind to the planet, be kind to each-other. And Reduce, Reuse, Recycle ♻️
