Biography
A abandoned hatchling found in The Hewn City.
Something seems off about this young Pearlcatcher...
The flow of time.
Rhune watched as the sand slowly flowed backwards in the hourglass placed on the ground in front of him. By now, his body had returned to the body of hatchling and he sat up, stretching his wings out.
As the final grains of silvery sand shifted back into the top of the hourglass, time shifted once more and the sand started to flow normally. Rhune picked up the hourglass, carefully storing it in the pouch he carried.
Time had never been right in the Hewn City. That was something he had learned from the moment he had stepped foot in it.
He stood up, glancing around his surroundings for anything he could recognize. When he found nothing, he sighed and picked a random direction.
Aimlessely wandering, Rhune held the hopes of finding another dragon that could lead him out and bring him home. He had lost track of how long he had been wandering through the city. Sometimes it felt like years and sometimes it felt like a month.
The twisting, misty labrynth of the Hewn City made it nearly impossible to find your way without help. Every turn seemed to offer a new place and although Rhune had occasionally seen the tell tale light of another dragon in the distance, he could never reach them in time.
Few dragons chose to wander into the Hewn City, fearing the unknown of the mists. Fearing what they might hide.
But the myths and tales were false. Rhune had never seen anything the likes of the tales he had grown up on. His only companions in the mist were the fauna of light.
He examined the ground as he walked, stopping to examine strange new things or have a one-sided conversation with a frog or small mammal that crossed his path. Save for the few creatures, the city was quiet.
He quietly watched a small squirrel scamper across the ground, searching for food.
No matter how long it took, Rhune would find a way out. He would find a home.
And the strange magic of the city could only do so much to stop him.
