Biography

Quarstolis' avatar
Quarstoliskeitikur
The Eternal Warden of Stone

Bio
Quarstoliskeitikur is a legendary and powerful dragon who slumbered for thousands of years under the rocks of Dragonhome.

She was one of the first Dusthide Dragons to have been created by the Earthshaker, forged in rock and stone to be an eternal guardian of the lands of Sornieth. She has existed since the beginning of the Third Age, and knows all of its history like the back of her hand. Although she slumbers for most of her life, she watches over the world in his sleep, through the eternal vigil of the stone itself. For she has the ability to commune with the rocks of the earth and gain its knowledge and all that it has seen.

Quarstolis has mostly been forgotten by the all but the most diligent of storytellers. Her name is only mentioned by the most archaic of stories amongst the snappers of Dragonhome. Still, it is not honour or acclaim she desires. As long as she can continue her eternal watch of the lands of Sornieth, she is satisfied.

However, as of late, the recent happenings on Sornieth have been troubing. Events were in motion that was bigger than any dragon on Sornieth. Quarstolis sensed that her presence was needed, and perhaps, after thousands of years of slumbering, it was time for Quarstolis to rejoin dragon society.

Personality
Having experienced the passage of thousands of years, Quarstolis is extremely knowledgeable in many areas, especially around history, culture, customs and geology. She is not afraid to offer her knowledge to those who ask. She is also very humble, and doesn't think herself that big of a deal. However, because of this, Quarstolis often finds that dragons are skeptical about her knowledge of the ancient past and has trouble when she is challenged about her knowledge.

It also doesn't help that although she is very knowledgeable, her skills in actual interaction can be somewhat lacking. For example, when in a marketplace to buy supplies, she may attempt to barter with stone, explaining its rich history from the moment it formed to present day. To her, it is an incredible source of knowledge and wisdom. The markings on the rock, the weathering pattern. It can tell so much. So she is rather confused about why so few dragons would accept such ancient stone as payment.

However, it cannot be denied that her knowledge and connection with the earth are first rate. For those dragons who accept her for who she is, they can find themselves with a stalwart and resourceful ally, with a hide as thick as stone, and a spirit that never breaks. Plus, it also helps that she's just really powerful too.

Quarstolis can get very emotional and is very interested in relationships developing and likes secretly rooting for couples to get together. She will cry if someone tells her about their sick sister and will give money to help.

Sometimes, she can be seen staring at the land that to an outsider, doesn't look particularly interesting or special. But to her, it might've been a field that she had once roamed thousands of years ago. The friends and enemies she once knew has long since faded into memory, but her memory is eternal. Over thousands of years, even the face of the land may change. Perhaps a mountain once stood where this valley now sits. Perhaps she remembers the time he climbed to the top and saw the land as it spread far beneath him. And perhaps she remembers the friends that had made the journey with her, once when she and dragonkind were young.

Eternity is a long time to live. But that is the burden she has accepted.
