Dusk set upon the land as it overtook everything slowly in its embrace of up-coming darkness that would eventually fall into the night. Khrysos's eyes went unblinding as he sat on the land as he slowly became more stone as time overthrew him. But it wouldn't stop him from watching over this clan of young folk who have taken care of him for so long... a guard was next to his side, attending to him, cleaning out weeds and other plants that didn't seem right that was growing from Khrysos's body.

His old friend, the one who marked him as his charge always remained by his side, keeping him from becoming truly alone. There were some days where his guard thought him to be dead if he slept too long or didn't give him a certain look they had set up...

They say the old guard used to be a very brave and strong warrior who seemed like he was blessed by the very deity he had been born too. But with all blessings comes a curse too strange to comprehend one day. His old bones replied snapping pains when he ever tried to move on his own...

His duties never left him however, he may be old and turning into stone, but he will maintain watch over this clan he has come to love, even if he's completely out of sight of the majority of them. He watches daily from above, the business, the cheers of the child running along, the chatter... All sounds he thankfully still hear from above. He would always be the watcher of this clan. And for the day should he break free from his curse, it would be with good reason...

For now, just watching and having his dear friend by his side was enough for this old guardian who gave a tiresome smile.
