Who are you?

An unknown voice questions in the darkness, speaking to seemgly no one but themselves.

Another voice answers the first, the ashes strewn on the ground stirring and steadily rising in the night, off the ground-- a winding whilwind. In a blink the twisting spiral of cinders and mysterious discarded bones long burnt to almost nothing catch ablaze by an invisible spark as it continues to shift.

"From the midst of destruction, I became the creator of myself.
From the midst of darkness, I became my own source of light."

The stranger gapes at the form the steadily igniting crescendo takes. Eyes of pure, raw fire stare back unmoving, the being continues to speak, voice picking up volume and power at a steady pace.

"I have died a thousand deaths, each time reinventing myself brighter, stronger, and purer than before." Something like resent and unshakable determination echoes in it's voice. Contempt soon trickles in and gets swept by fury as the Fire entity utters their final lines, words sounding like a prophecy:

"From the ashes of souls, a fire shall be woken.
Froged in flames of eternity, a light from the shadows shall spring..."

I will be set free.
