Juniper had practically vibrated with excitement when the eggs had shown the first signs of hatching. He couldn't help it. It was his first nest after all! Topaz was the first to hatch, but they seemed frail and weaker than they should be. Juniper smiled sofly at his child, but underneath his happiness was a slight worry. It seemed his children were touch by the same magic that had scarred him and might be the cause of Topaz being so frail.
As Topaz got older, they were a bit sheltered. Brittle bones and a weaker immune system kept them resting at home constantly. But in the face of their struggles, Topaz was a bright, sweet kid, having such a deep admiration for magic and how it manifested in their kin.
