LORE While he cuts an imposing figure in his dark hood and bandages, Corvid is much kinder than his appearance would suggest. He adores birds and flying creatures, especially ravens, and he can seldom be found without his Death Seeker familiar in close attendance. Corvid also enjoys playing with the clan's hatchlings, and is particularly compassionate towards lost and orphaned dragons. He and his mate, Shanoa, nursed Riftstalker back to health after he was found on the shores of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, and provided unwavering support to the young Spiral in spite of his aggressive and paranoid nature. In fact, some of Corvid's clanmates joke that his heart is so kind that its glow shows through his scales. While his glowing scales are something of an oddity, in truth none of the clan's healers have been able to determine the cause of their golden shine. Because of his role as guardian of the Cavern, though, Corvid needs to be stealthy enough to hide in the shadows; for this reason he keeps his glowing scales under wraps - literally.

When Incursio carried the snarling chest into the Keep, none of the dragons knew what to make of the strange, spiny egg they found inside. When the shell of the egg split open, the clan was shocked to see a tiny, batlike dragon emerge - Jareth, the clan's first Nocturne.

Jareth is highly intelligent and observant, with an excellent memory. A true Shadow dragon, he has a strong fondness for puzzles and word games. Independent and genial, he cares little what others think of him as long as he feels he belongs. While he was initially sensitive about being the only Nocturne in the clan, he now enjoys the somewhat preferential treatment he receives. When Cassia, Lyra, and Herne arrived in the clan, Jareth bonded closely with them and considers them his best friends. Jareth also formed a close relationship with Incursio, and his natural mimicry of the older Guardian's unselfish nature helped to temper some of Jareth's more capricious and self-centered impulses.

Hatched on the darkest day of the year, Jareth has a natural affinity for the shadows and spends most of his time in the Cavern. His hidden nest is tucked into one of the many natural chambers of the Cavern's walls; over time, Jareth has filled the space with an assortment of games, which he frequently invites friends over to play. He ofte flits around the lair at night, frequently joining his clanmates for dinner in the main gathering chamber or star-watching with Pulchrior at the Keep. Jareth comes and goes as he pleases and doesn't care about being invited, but if he feels unwanted he will slink away before anyone realizes he has gone.
