Criswell - he/him - adult - bitter, antisocial and focused

the son of a sacred seer and a powerful sorceress, Criswell has a lot of expectations placed upon him. From a young age, he lacked the distinctive magical energies of his mother and father, causing much disappointment. Criswell lacked his fathers gaze, his eyes boring no blessing of the Shadowbringer, and lacked his mother's terrible and powerful aura. His parents spent much more time on their dark studies than him, causing him to grow bitter with age.

He didn't make many friends when he was young. He had other things to worry about, and honed tirelessly on his studies of the more practical dark arts, hoping to amount to something to his parents. Criswell grew an incredible skill with potions, herbs, and using objects and plants to divine the future. He discovered a specific passion for this, and became very talented at seeking out visions- but more than a few were tainted by his emotional state upon his rituals, and he became known for his "spotty" readings.

His father, specifically, looked upon him with disappointment, seeing his sons form of divination as illegitimate. Tiresias believed that his magic was not a gift of the shadowbringer, but a talent at wresting something out of the universe's claws. This ended up causing a massive fight between them. Criswell now resides alone, and always has since, in the further depths of the caves. He does not speak or socialize with anyone and meets any rare visitor with suspicion and annoyance.

Criswell spends most of his time now using natural methods of divination, such as reading the flames and smoke of candles, peering into pools of dark water and mirrors, and ingesting herbs to induce visions. He seeks to become a better seer than his father, whom has since left the clan to serve under the Shadowbringer herself. Recently, he has been interested in procuring progeny to continue his work- but it has not been going how he had hoped.
