Mated to Nahuatl

Jacque was a sickly hatchling, prone to injury due to a joint condition. Though in his lair of birth, they attempted to help him in every way they could, he had a tendency to pop his wings out of their socket and develop kinks in his tail. At one point, Ashladdie of the Hivernal Storm clan was sought out to consult on his problem, due to her medical expertise. Seeing the problem, Ashy flew home and returned with a fae, Arwenna, in tow. The little fae was the Hivernal Storm clan’s head engineer, and she looked at Jacque’s joint problems as a structural issue. Between the two Hivernal Storm dragons, constructing splints to support Jacque’s wings and tail was a fairly simple task.

In the aftermath, Jacque found himself growing closer to Ashladdie, admiring her greatly. When she invited Jacque to join the Hivernal Storm clan, he jumped at the opportunity. Soon after that, he revealed a hidden talent for combat magic that led to him taking on responsibility for training future mages for the clan.

He met his mate, the wildclaw Nahuatl, on one of his first walks out alone in the clan’s land. She was tending the garden, pruning back the shrubs and dead branches, and he was attracted to the mix of tenderness and ruthlessness she showed in her work. He offered her a packet of seeds as a courtship gift the next time he was out and about. The rest of the clan politely avoids asking about how their mating works with Jacque’s joint problems.

During the clan's time in Plague territory, there were the occasional comments from other dragons about weakness. About how he shouldn't have survived. But those who spoke out of turn learned quick that he's not weak in the least. It usually only took a few ice spikes flung at them to send the message.
