Miku is often described as the black sheep of her family. She doesn't conform to their traditions or expectations of her as a dragoness. She does what she wants and tries not to let the opinions of others get to her. A pacifist at heart, Miku refuses to harm another dragon. If a fight can't be avoided altogether, she'll use her skills to disable an opponent rather than causing them injury. She's very good at sensing trouble due to her acute awareness of her surroundings—an awareness born of paranoia that stems from a fear of death. This weakness is something that Miku has to live with every day. Nightmares of herself or those she cares about dying haunt her sleep. She'll freeze up when confronted with weapons, especially swords. While Miku is rather useless at the combat side of being a mercenary, she's a formidable healer and uses her attention to detail to save as many dragons as she can. This is her way of overcoming her fear. |

Miku was the daughter of an old and established family. There were many expectations about how her life would go, but it wasn't long before her family realized that she didn't care about their expectations. Her childhood was a constant battle against her parents. Miku didn't want to be a fancy noble or be married off to preserve the family bloodline. But since she didn't know what she wanted to do, she remained with her family and continued under her tutors. One day, Miku was out with several other noble dragonesses on a walk when they were attacked by bandits, and one of her friends was brutally murdered. This traumatized Miku. She no longer wanted to be upper-class if it meant having a target on her back. Her parents tried everything to "fix" her, but she refused to have anything to do with being a noble. Her parents sent her to medical school to preserve the family's reputation. However, Miku's paranoia about being attacked caused trouble at school. Her family disowned her and cut off contact. This was the best thing that happened to her; she finally had the freedom to do what she wanted. She finished her schooling and traveled to offer medical aid to poor clans in exchange for shelter and food. However, traveling made her nervous and she still had nightmares about her friend's death. Miku met a fellow doctor on the road, a Wildclaw named Shinda. He was far more experienced than she and taught her a few things during their short journey together. After parting ways, Miku continued to travel, wishing she could settle down somewhere, but unsure where. During her travels, she came across an injured Skydancer. After she helped him, he invited her to join the mercenary group he was a part of. Miku accepted a medical position among their ranks, happy to be of use and to finally have a place to call home. |
