(EchoOfSky's lore) Grapevine was born in a swamp and outcasted as a witch by those around her. She tried her best to prove to those that she is good and that she is not a witch, but no matter what she did it was always viewed as 'evil' and 'witchcraft'. If she gave food to the poor, those around would think she's 'poisoning' them. If she gave small gifts or toys to young ones, it was viewed as a curse placed on them. If she were to wish blessings on one, they would immediately assume that she cast an evil spell on one. She even bore children, but even that was deemed 'evil'. Grapevine became sick of it all; sick of trying to prove she's good, sick of trying to get those around her to see she's just like them, sick of everyone. Tired of it all, she decided to become the very thing they all accused her of: a witch.
Because she didn't want her daughters to grow up to be mistreated like her, Grapevine took her daughters and left her home, never to look back. Only after leaving her hometown did she realize that there is more to the world out there, and that there are places that would accept her and her daughters.

Grapevine had actually found the Sanctuary of the Lost by accident one day, but after seeing how welcoming and accepting they were, Grapevine decided that she and her daughters would come back to this place every now and then.
Grapevine still travels the world with her daughters, but every now and then she would come back to the Sanctuary of the Lost and help out in the place.
