Once the Snowdrop clan was a large and prosperous clan. It spanned across the Cloudscrape Crags, carved into the mountains like a massive labyrinth. It hosted dragons from all corners of Sornieth, large and small. They were well known to be a kind and generous folk, braving storms and horrible weather to protect the others about the land. They would gift out supplies, kind letters, and familiars to unfortunate clans both far and near. At the heart of all of this, stood the graceful skydancer, Nivalis.

The Matriarch, to outsiders, always appeared cold and calculating. She would speak in slow, monotonous sentences that carried a constant air of disappointment. Her expressions stayed icy cold, and her head held high in regal stature. Yet those who knew her, those who loved her, those she kept close...they all knew of her golden heart and her intense love she would spread around. To her, every single dragon in her care was her family, regardless of bloodline. As such, she would do everything in her power for them, regardless of the effort or cost.

This was to be an exploitable flaw.

A young Imperial, Vinca, had come to her from the birth clan of her beloved mate, Zosma. She desired the fighting glory of her brother and begged until she was granted passage on an expedition. The Imperial was gravely injured, and in her fear for the young dragon, Nivalis hired a wandering magician to help her clan healer. Everything seemed to check out. The magician was definitely powerful, and had a deep knowledge of Imperial kind.

The magician turned on them all, aiding in the death of the young Vinca and raising her as an emperor. The magician revealed herself as the fearsome, bloodthirsty, and overwhelmingly power hungry necromancer Hamamelis and proceeded to shred the clan from the foundation up.

Nivalis gathered what few of her clan remained and fled to the Reclaimer's Glacier, hiding in the folds of ice that spanned acres. She and her loyal followers fought hard, sustaining many casualties and injuries in order to stop the constant horrors thrown at them from the necromancer. They fought with everything they had in order to keep what little of the Southern Icefields remained in tact, sending dragon after dragon towards the Fortress of Ends to beg for aid.

One day, their prayers were answered in the form of a small Gaoler sent from the Icewarden himself. Soon after, more Gaolers would appear to aid them in the fight. They destroyed numerous monstrosities, Emperors and undead horrors at the cost of many lives and many injuries.

Still, she fights with all she has in her. She will keep fighting as long as it takes, and at her side she has her mate, daughter, and a whole clan who love her.
