The male leader of the clan. Lifetime mate to Isla. He doesn't talk much and prefers being on his own, but being mate to a fae dragon has taught him to use his crest to express emotion.

As the clan founder, Baldur is in charge of running the Clan council that decides about important things concerning their community. He interviews, vets and chooses the flight representatives for the council. Most of the time, this trust is a lifelong blessing, and the representatives don't change very often.

He and Arne are in charge of Coliseum training for dragons that have come of age and need to be prepared for exaltation. Baldur is very religious and loyal to the Windsinger, and the only thing that is preventing him from leaving to serve the deity is his devotion to his clan, and the fact that he believes he is of greater help by training other dragons for exaltation.

Baldur doesn't really have friends but Arne comes as close as anyone probably ever will - they spend a lot of time together so they have to at least tolerate each other, and they often even talk a bit. Isla thinks it's good for Baldur to sometimes socialize with some other dragon than her and tends to usher him out of his corner a couple times a week for this purpose. Baldur accepts this with an occasional eyeroll.

Baldur and Isla have one rebellious daughter who, upon hearing about her fate as "nothing more than a servant to a deity", absolutely flipped at her father and ran off. She holds a grudge against her dad and won't talk with him unless absolutely necessary - she usually passes information to him through her mother instead. Baldur is still upset about Ingrid's "betrayal" of the Windsinger, but secretly hopes that this is all meant to be and that she has another great purpose in this clan.
