Biography
"Do you fear death?"
Skollyoth's Protege | Tracker | Harvester of Blood
Resiblut: Harvester of blood, unknown origin
Mando Name: Kyr'vhetal, to harvest blood
"Again!" Skollyoth roars at the hatchling, who- isn't quite a hatchling anymore. At this age, Resiblut has grown, her frills have come and flattened, there is a permanent stain of blood tracked to her wings, and the armor given to her as a hatchling isn't quite dangling loosely anymore. It's hanging on, held tight, and her wings let her fly at dangerous speeds.
Resiblut charges to Skollyoth, headfirst, as fast as her muscled legs can allow, while the Tundra stands firm. It's an easy exercise to train strength. Run to Skollyoth, slam into her, recover, repeat. She has been drilled with this ever since she was given to the Valkyrie.
The Mirror gives her body slam, executed perfectly, but what she doesn't expect, is for Skollyoth to lose her balance, and to tumble to the floor. She's so used to the Tundra towering over her, that she's never noticed that now, she nearly meets her, eye-level.
The Tundra on the floor is stunned, and looks up to her student. The face paint is supposed to neutralize emotion, but looking down, Resiblut sees surprise on Skollyoth. She's toppled her teacher. She's no longer, quite little.
"Well then." Skollyoth says, after a minute or so of silence. "Time for lesson two." she chuckles, getting up and slipping into another battle stance, one that Resiblut is too familiar with seeing in the Coliseum. Lesson two, Skollyoth told her, was when the real fun would start.
"Does the punching bag strike back?" Resiblut laughs, throwing her head back and mimicking her position.
"This one does." Skollyoth grins, before charging at her protege.
The Healers would curse the day the Mirror grew up, and every day that followed.
Resiblut didn't understand the concept of being gentle, and was born in blood, wrecking her sibling's eggs and sending her mother into trauma. The Volgelzang had seen their fair share of mischief, but this was one step darker. Arrangements to the Valkyrie were quickly arranged, taking the Mirror hatchling as an omen.
The Valkyrie took in Resiblut as a generous gift from Konstanze, and when Skollyoth first saw her, she growled at her, magenta wings bristling as fiercely as they could. Smirking, Skollyoth picked her up by the scruff of her neck and walked to the training grounds. She would start young.
The two have since formed an inseparable bond, and Skollyoth takes to Resiblut as closely as one can take as a daughter, and it's hard to believe they're not related, they mirror each other in terms of thirst and dark personalities, and their color is too alike to ignore. Even after the Mirror 'graduated' Skolyoth's teachings, she still follows Skolyoth, aiding her in battle
Lately, though, the Harvester of Blood has been developing feelings for the newest Vala of the lair, Nienna. She is fascinated by her crystal hide and shining wings, and every time she looks at her, she sees pain and sorrow, but she sees so much beauty in her courage- and from there, has been openly courting the Mirror.
Skolyoth taking on a new apprentice does not directly offend Resiblut, but she scoffs at Kerensa, seeing her as a friendly rival, feelings which the Fae reciprocates. They were caught up in arguments at first, but have found the sweet relief of common ground- their admiration for their mentor and an occasional homesickness for the Tangled Wood.
