Roost dragons are chaotic entities with a weird sense of humour and name themselves and their offspring after whatever currently makes them cackle and screech like parrots. They repeat the same dumb things over and over again like it's the best joke they've ever heard, much to the frustration of Lea and Eli, so if something ends up tickling their fancy in a dumb way, one of them has probably at least temporarily claimed it as its name. The flock knows each other through their aura / energy, which is unchanging, so the name is mostly a form of bonding or entertaining companionship between them.

Most of them are either dumb memes or funny words that just stick. Welcome to heck.
