Biography
Rastaban's Logbook wrote:
I am completely amazed at this development. Adofai, Aermoa and I were out in the Scorched Forest, and we came across a remarkable discovery...
"She has a name, it is Vanadi. And yes, for now, she can stay," Rastaban responded. He was convinced that Vanadi would not be staying long and would soon leave, but she'd already stayed longer than what the clan originally thought.
"Really?" Aeroma continued, "She's practically got "don't trust me, I've killed several and felt nothing from it" written all over her face. How can you let someone like that stay?"
"I try not to go by first impressions," Rastaban said rather bluntly, "I'm a bit surprised you haven't taken a greater liking to her given what you are." Aeroma gasped sharply, but before he could make a retort, he heard Adofai stifle a laugh from behind him. The Imperial had said so little on the expedition that Aeroma had forgotten she was there. He whirled around and asked demandingly, "Where's your stance in this?" Adofai opened her mouth to speak, but then her eyes seemed to shift from Aeroma to something beyond. Her expression changed to one of confusion. Aeroma and Rastaban turned to look in the same direction as her. There, a short distance away, stood a tree that seemed... different from the others. Rather than standing with its branches bare and its bark singed, this tree seemed unaffected by the embers and flames swirling around it. Cautiously, the three approached the tree. Rastaban lifted a claw to feel the bark.
"It's petrified, no wonder it's not burning," he observed.
"That's not what I saw," Adofai said, shaking her head, "there was something down here." Adofai pointed to the cluster of roots protruding through the ground.
"What did you see?" Aeroma inquired.
"It was small, maybe about the same size as Quorra. And it was tan, like Aeroma, but dustier."
Thinking there might be something to find, Rastaban quickly began digging through the root cluster.
None of the three were prepared to see what was quickly revealed. Adofai gasped, and Aeroma's eyes went wide. After a few moments of silence, Rastaban spoke up, "This one is staying with the clan."
Sequoia's job as the holder of the clan's wishlist is not without its perils. He often finds that visiting dragons from outside clans will often sneak up on him and remove entries from the list while he isn't aware. This has led Sequoia to be largely paranoid around dragons from other clans, and he has taken measures to ensure that at least some of those who look at the wishlist scroll are punished for their misdeeds.
Interestingly, Sequioa’s statue self seems to be made of petrified wood rather than genuine stone.
