Shapeshifter

Most dragons born from the plague flight have natural immunity to diseases. When Nightfrill was born and was exposed to the diseased air he immediately got extremely ill and in fear that he would die his parents took him to the edge of the water flight. Hoping the water would wash away the disease. Knowing they couldn't bring him back the wandered along the shore of the Sea of a Thousand Currents begging clans to take him. Rejected by almost all one clan was their last hope. This one. Accepting dragons originating from all flights they gladly took him under their wing and was cared for by the caretaker by the name of Stardust.

-Having such a powerful disease as a hatchling allowed a secret gene to become active which allowed Nightfrill to evolve. This unlocked a gene that allows shape-shifting. This is very helpful when traveling into hostile clans or in times of great war.

Acquired Familiar
The Hooded Dodo came in contact with the air from the plague flight and immediately was affected. The bird became blind and had to flee and stumbled upon the neighboring water flight. Diving into the water hoping to wash away the illness from it's eyes it started to drown but didn't know which way was the shore. Nightfrill found the Dodo drowning and rescued it. They are inseparable due to having the same experience.
