RETAINER TO PRINCE VIO and GATHERER

Vio's first retainer, whom he found abandoned out in the wilds and took under his wing. Shadow is extremely fond of his charge and seldom leaves the larger dragon's side, excepting for when Vio sends him out to gather materials for his projects and experiments. Shadow is an expert gatherer with a keen eye and careful claws- he wants only the best for the prince he serves. Shadow doesn’t care a lick about his previous clan or the dragons who got rid of him- he considers the beginning of his life to be when Vio found him and took him in.

Shadow has hobbies of his own outside of his duties, of course. He takes great joy in playing pranks and causing mischief- sometimes harmless, sometimes catastrophic. He's a fairly good sport about it, however, and always comes around to apologize if he's really hurt someone or done something wrong. Despite all of his snark, he's a rather amicable character and most people get along with him once they get to know him.

When he's not causing trouble or running errands for Vio, Shadow enjoys honing his combat abilities, polishing weapons, and looking into magic and alchemy. Although he doesn't often seem it, Shadow is rather intelligent. He prefers to have people see him for his humor rather than his wits, and as such, most of his study is in private.

Shadow used to have a terrible crush on his charge, but Vio saw right through him. Fortunately, Vio felt much the same towards him, and they’ve been together ever since. Shadow was honestly enthused to add Red to their polycule, as he loves him dearly as well. Shadow considers Vio and Red to be his reasons for living-- he’d fight to the death and level mountains to protect them.
