JOB DESCRIPTION

While he did not originally found this clan, Tartarus is it's leader. He has natured it and watched it grow since he himself was a hatchling. He has seen many dragons come and just as many go, but has always remained a constant on the Island. As leader, he is tasked with caring for and protecting each dragon under is authority. This includes dealing out daily chores, making sure there is enough food to survive the harsh conditions of the frozen tundra and, when there is free time, visiting the clan's friends and allies.

On top of his duties as leader, Tartarus is also apart of the trio that battles in the Coliseum. Alongside Vilin and Athena, Tartarus readily defends their clan against enemies! Bringing home large hauls is something he takes great pride in.

PERSONALITY

Tartarus is very kind and overall has a winning personality. He gets along with just about every dragon he comes into contact with and is a huge hit with the hatchlings! He tends to be on the quiet side, preferring to listen and take silent note of conversations and concerns.

He has a few flaws, just as any dragon does. The biggest being his wings. He is very sensitive about them and will lash out if he feels he is being accused of being weaker because of them. He will go above and beyond what he is asked of, if it means proving his is as good, if not better than anyone else.

EARLY YEARS

While Tartarus was still in his egg, there was an awful accident. It caused him severe trauma in his wing muscles and bones. Because of this, he was never able to experience the joys of flight. Having been born in the Fire region where blacksmiths strive for perfection, he is seen as a mistake. He should never have lived past his hatching once it became apparent he would never be a "whole" dragon.

He was exiled as soon as it was thought he could survive on his own and left for dead. He traveled far and wide, visiting the Nature region where he met Embyr and Scrounge, the original founders of this clan. Together, they traveled to the Southern Icefields and set up the Misfit Island.

CURRENT

Having been around for just over two years, Tartarus has settled into a nice route. He wakes up early in the morning, when he hears Vilin heading off to bed, and goes for a quick run around the perimeter of the clan's territory. He checks all the boundaries and, using his basic knowledge of magic, checks the wards. If one is in need of strengthening, he gets in touch with an adept magic user to do so.

After all the daily chores have been assigned, he will either head a hunting party or gather Vilin (if he's awake enough) and Athena and make their way to the Coliseum. If on the rare day he finds himself with nothing to do, he will put together a pack and head off to visit Isis. Trips like this tend to last a few days, as it is usually so long in between visits that they lose track of time. When this happens, his leader duties fall to his Second in Command, Athena.

Tartarus occasionally has to visit a skilled magic user in order to change the colors of his pelt. Every now and then, a Fire dragon will track him down seeing it as their "calling from the Flamecaller" to do away with the mistake that still lives. When this happens, he will kill the attacker, do away with the body and quickly get his colors changed. Sometimes this makes for.... awkward color combinations that he is stuck with until he can save up enough treasure to get it done again.
