|| Pigeon || ________________________________________________

Pigeon likes to rip open bags of flour and cover every surface of your lair with it. He knows it is a fire hazard, but he doesn't care.
Oh and if you are playing Minecraft, he'll cover your base in blocks of Diorite.

He likes to coo like a pigeon and is usually covered in a fine layer of dust/flour.

Nobody likes them, but they are loved.
Pigeons are long forgotten, abandoned pets. They are making the best of it. Treat them with respect.

Pigeon facts:
  • city pigeons are a feral domestic species
  • the original habitat of the rock dove were rocky cliffsides. Apparently, human made structures are a great substitute
  • city pigeons appear worldwide through human introduction
  • pigeon chicks are called squab
  • pigeons feed their young a special "crop milk"
  • their nests look silly and minimal sometimes
  • pigeons are one of the only bird species that can drink by sucking up water
  • pigeons do not oil, but dust their feathers to make them waterproof
  • there are many pretty domestic breeds
  • they make good pets, they love scritches and they do not destroy things or bite like parrots do
  • their cooing is soothing
  • pigeons like to just lie down on the sidewalk and "loaf"
  • the terms pigeon and dove are interchangeable. Doves are usually smaller.
  • pigeons have a home, a place they always return to
  • this is why pigeons made excellent messengers
  • anti bird spikes and nets are cruel and do not work. They do not avoid them because pigeons do not understand that you don't want them in a certain place. This is their home. They do not want to leave.
  • touching a wild pigeon will not make you sick. There are very few pathogenes that can be transferred from bird to human. You should wash your hands before touching food though.
  • pigeons are smarter than you think, they can learn tricks
  • pigeons are good fliers
  • pigeons make excellent caricatures with their chonky body, small head and staring eyes
  • the head-bopping makes them see better while walking
  • not all pigeons you see are the "rats" you think off. Wood pigeons for example are larger and living in pairs, not big groups and are part of the "normal" European wildlife. They nest mainly in trees. They look similar to the city pigeon, but are larger and more evenly colored.
  • the Victoria-crowned pigeon is the largest pigeon species on earth (75cm)
  • the common ground dove is one of the smallest dove species on earth (15cm)
  • fruit doves are extremely colorful, appearing green, orange and pink
  • many fruit doves are endemic and endangered though
  • one of the fancies pigeon species are the Nicobar pigeon, the bleeding-heart dove and the Spinifex Pigeon
  • pigeons are awesome

How did I find this dragon? I have a recent habit to check the AH for dragons to buy, every time I am bored, which happens a lot. And I saw this triple Basic Abberation child and was interested in the colors. I started scrying and OH BOY, this is awesome, so I got it for dirt cheap, slapped the thankfully inexpensive treasure genes on, brewed scales and bought a permababy scroll on the same day. He already had goat eyes.
