Of Virrin and Kamrin's first nest, only one hatchling, by the name of Virenna, remained for any significant time with the clan. When Virenna left to serve the Earthshaker she believed she was leaving behind a daughter of her own to continue the clan founder's bloodline. On the day picked to celebrate Marquise's transition to dragonhood, however, Marquise emerged from the lair not as a Mirror like her grandmother, but as a Nocturne. Whether she had always been an imposter or whether the change was the result of a trickster's magic has never been determined.

Marquise is a capable and precise individual determined to bring honour to the clan, although some are wary of her. She values honour above most other traits, but isn't above a little deception when the need arises, and calling her out on her hypocrisy seems ineffectual.
