Zant's an old dragon, not as old as some, but older than most- and it shows. He never acts entitled or better than any of the younger dragons, like some of his older compatriots do. He's rather down to earth and warm with an enormous heart, and as ambitious and passionate as a dragon a tenth of his age. His story is a long and complex one, mostly lost to time and memory, as he prefers to focus on the present and thinks of the past as little more than steps reaching to where he is currently. Zant's a lot wiser than he acts, but that comes naturally with age.

The Nocturne's little form has undergone numerous changes over his lifespan, from breed to breed with more than a few side effects. His body is less corporeal than most, often shifting and blurring as he moves. He also does not feel many of the effects of old age, as his physical form is rather new, though he is less energetic than a younger dragon.

Zant likes talking about the Deities, whom he speaks of as if they were close friends. He claims in his youth he was privileged enough to meet his deity, Flamecaller, face to face. He likes to suggest the shimmering lights that dance underneath his scales are a sign of her favor.

Zant left his old clan in search of new shores and respite. The small Nocturne now spends most of his time doing everyday chores and basic work. He never complains or asks for help. He enjoys scouting and watching over clanmates as they go about their day- fussing over them like they were hatchlings.

He’s eager and friendly and likes chatting while he works, and can get embarrassingly worked up and excited over little things. He’s quickly become an important member of the fishybreath clan, and most clanmates think of him as something like a grandpa.
