And much like you reap fruit from a tree once it ripens, so Mistletoe reaps the fruits of his endeavors. Dragons have been known to give him a meal for free, all the money they are carrying at that time, even the clothes they're wearing.

When asked afterwards why they did those things, the dragons seem confused, saying they "just liked him".

So if you ever see a red and green coatl for the first time, but feel as if you recognize him... be wary.
