S U M M A R Y
Born and raised in the umbrage of the Stormcatcher's great city of copper, a much younger Silas once found himself dazzled by "the Boss" and his unwavering dedication to progress and productivity. He embraced his Flight's system with stars in his eyes and dreams of greatness colored with luxurious high-rises in the Turrets of Goldensparc for his entire clan, wholeheartedly — or foolishly, he'd say now — believing they'd all rise the ranks if they just worked hard enough. This fantasy would be shattered, though, when Silas experienced the true horrors of the Lightning Farm. His brother died on the job due to the Stormcatcher's complete disregard for safety standards, leaving the young guardian furious and heartbroken. He began to reconsider the way he viewed the world, quickly growing jaded towards the constant push of progress at the cost of workers. Everyone is replaceable, he realized. The Stormcatcher would move on, uncaring. With his exceptional skill as an orator and the moving story that inspired him to act, Silas found himself taking a leadership role in circles of others in his flight who had grown to resent their deity's ways. He eventually would lead a group of them, including many of his own clanmates, to what he believed to be their salvation — the embrace of the Lightweaver — and form what would become his lifelong charge, Clan Valor. To Silas, who tends towards extremes of reverence or scorn, the Lightweaver is his savior and the reason he and his clan remain safe and prosperous. He leads his clan with faith and love both towards its members and towards their deity, and is a friendly fellow who often gets lost in a good book and loves spending time with the hatchlings of Clan Valor, but... others often worry he's blinded by the Light. He doesn't like to question his savior's ways. Even when he perhaps should.
