Biography
When I was a lot younger, I read the series Eragon and fell in love with dragons for the very first time. I dreamed of being my own dragon rider and since I had such an active imagination, I used to pretend that I was a dragon rider. The story goes that I had found an egg one day (on the playground, of course) and it was a gorgeous, swirling opal of purples and blues. I felt a heartbeat in the palm of my hands as out from the egg hatched a purple dragon the size of my third grade arm. She went with me everywhere, my first and only imaginary friend.
She would wait for me on the playground once she grew too big to enter into the school, she'd fly behind the car and rest her wings by landing on the roof when she was tired. Amethyst, (who, at the time, was named Amithest for my lack of being able to spell) helped raise me in such a way that only an imaginary dragon friend could do. She helped me be brave, to face things I was unable to without such a large dragon by my side. That little imaginary egg also helped me meet my best friend. We've been friends since third grade and are still friends to this day at our big age of 24, I walked up to her and asked if she'd like a dragon-- and frankly, who wouldn't at that age? So I handed over what, in my head, looked like a stone made of fire. But the dragon that hatched from that egg, is a story for another day...
