Bynau
The Scoundrel

Bynau's main job in the clan is that of a gatherer which he does very well, while his hobby is that of amateur brewer, which he does less well. Despite his consistent lack of skill at it, he refuses to give up, as he's turned out several rather good recipes, sometimes completely by accident. As a gatherer, he's quite skilled, particularly at foraging. He's an expert at picking out edible plants and where they might grow particularly well in the Ashfall Waste's rich volcanic soil. He makes sure to bring back enough surplus that he can use them for another of his brews without anyone complaining that he's taking from the clan stores to make something undrinkable. He's good enough at following someone else's recipe, but he just can't resist tinkering with them and trying to come up with something original, usually with mixed effects. His friend Valkin is generally willing to try his newest concoction at least once, cheerfully stating that a snapper stomach is strong enough for anything.

Bynau is quite the charmer when he pokes his head out of his brewery and stillroom. He's silver-tongued and well-spoken, adept at picking out exactly what compliments will get him straight into a dragon's good graces. Sometimes he uses it to charm others into helping him out (including the infamous time he managed to get several very expensive crimson jadevines from the larder for an experimental recipe) but more often he exercises his charm in flirting with every dragoness in the lair. He has to take care to do so out of the sight of his beautiful mate Rynka, who can get quite fiery if he invokes her jealous streak. However, it was his silver tongue that won her over in the first place, and he can usually use it to smooth over any ruffled feathers with her again, after she runs out of things to throw at him, anyway.
