Tarne

Clan Born - Tarne was born of the lovers Bercario and Nissa who helped found the clan. Her parents joined Rutilia because their hearts aligned so well with the values of the clan. Tarne quickly left the clan to find her charge, and has been unable to return for many years, but has recently returned!

Tarne and Kavi, Prologue

Dragons used to say this dragon was doomed. It was said that progress was her worst fear, but only in its affects on her most valued subject, her charge.

Tarne was so named before she found her charge, but fate must have had a hand in doing so. Her search for a worthwhile charge began when she was quite young and foolish, and so to her wizened self, it was heart-wrenching and joyous to find that her will was connected to a lonely frozen lake in the mountains of the Southern Icefield. Her search had taken her miles from her home clan, and, without precedence to follow, Tarne set up a solitary watch on the frozen lake as her new and unsuspecting charge.

She was uncertain what would happen should it ever melt or crack; she simply guarded it lovingly, and watched the ecosystem beneath when the ice became crystal clear on sunny days. Her joy came from the beauty she observes around her, and her mate, Kavi, who kept her company all those years. Kavi's loyalty and dedication would eventually prove to be the key to her freedom and return home.
