Groundcone returned to Northslope during the Brightshine Jubilee, transformed into a Guardian--though still bearing a furry mane--and carrying a mysterious parcel. Neither he nor the Wavebreak Snarler that accompanied him back from his seasons-long absence have explained what it is.
Whether as some side-effect of his transformation or from some other thing, parts of Groundcone's skin now shine with a light of their own. The nature of this, and its possible connections to other things, remains as well unexplained.
