Biography
Idrykith
"..." Firstborn to a pair of mercenaries, Idrykith had few aspirations beyond a warm bed, not sharing his parents continuous desire for coin and jewels. After a coup took the lives of both in the plaguelands, Idry found himself lost without them and missing a wing. He took whatever work he could find, from grave-digging to fighting in the pits, becoming a ferocious beast of a gladiator having to think fast and adopt to life on the ground. Contact from his grandmother, Malesun, drew him to her clan seeking her few remaining relatives, though he was followed with suspicion and pity for long after he joined them. It seemed that though they were kin they did not trust easily. Idry was uncertain where he fit in, trying to settle into a quiet but restless life, soon meeting a guardian named Ghast whom claimed that he was hers. She passed to wasting illness shortly after laying a clutch whom saw a day only after hatching before they joined her. Grieving, Idrykith withdrew into himself, meticulously maintaining shape despite assurances he need never fight again. That work paid off when members of an outlying clan invaded for both the territory and the riches of knowledge Sugarblossom and Maxence possessed in the forms of lore, records and detailed maps to cave systems that passed through and riddled large expanses beyond the Crystalspine Reaches and into the oceans surrounding the isles. Sugar and Max's offspring all died in the long hours of the siege and sorting out traitors and by the end their numbers were greatly reduced. Idry was too late to help the hatchlings and heir but successfully defended the royals and his few remaining family. Becoming Royal Heir in their son's place was the last thing the fighter could expect but his agile and skeptical mind has taken well to court life even as memories began to fade. Gradually he built his harem, as the former heir had, not seeking to bind his heart to any one dragon. Years passed in this fashion and his harem grew to include twins, Soothe and Runk, and Heatstrike. The gentle-hearted Prince Atthau caught his attention and never fully left it. Idry soon found that he was dissatisfied with merely having his bed and sought to court him properly, dreading the day Atthau may leave him. Knowing that he would need heirs himself, as Sugar and Max both took a very inactive hand in ruling for their own pursuits, weighed on him. Once more a clutch failed to hatch and the eggs were quietly buried. The once proud fighter disparaged of ever having children so it was with some surprise that he found two hatching eggs hidden in the soft mounds of his familiar's bedding when no nest had been in the clan for some months. He knew she frequently stole from other familiars and pests, but to steal a dragon? No one could figure out quite how the akirbeak had managed such a distance with such large eggs. Unable to find the parents, Idry took the pair in himself, assuring the little ones that they smelled like home. Together he and his new mate named them Redara and Amhara. When the familiar stole away yet another very strange egg, the Heir was at his wits end, particularly when kin managed to hunt the bird down, threatening to take both the young dragon and roast his wayward familiar. When Bast refused to leave problems compounded and Idrykith could only honor his wish to stay. Upon learning of the experiments that had led to the creation of both hatchling and guest the Heir was compelled to act, inviting both to stay and join him, extending the royal family yet further. Thus the new prince, Bast, and his consort, Nakia, joined the household. Size: Standard Length, Standard Wingspan, Standard Weight, Normal Wings, Normal Body.
