Voikukka is restrained and confused. She is not certain how long she has been compromised, or how many or which of her visions and senses have been false constructs of the curse. She understands that she was spouting nonsense when healers and cursebreakers were gathering up the compromised, but does not remember this at all. Her visions since have been a fragmented mess, and her senses unclear and conflicting. She distrusts them, which is strange and alien to her, as before they have always led her aright.

She has been injected with Nature energy and Poisonwood venom, as have all the other compromised in their treatment. It makes her sick, and like some others has risen to her skin, in her case causing plants to grow and bloom on her back. Arquen periodically cuts them down, inspects them, and them withers them into slime. He says that when he no longer finds traces of the curse in the flowers, then she should be safe from another fugue like before and can be untied. Voikukka hopes--but has no basis to expect or not, which is bizarre--that when this happens her visions and senses will become clear again.
