QUOTE: . hey do you mind if i just- *activates tentamissiles* . . The new Agent 3 (sometimes referred to as 'Neo Agent 3') is the protagonist of Splatoon 3 and its Story Mode. Though shown primarily in the promotional art and gameplay as an Inkling, they are/can be the second playable Octoling in the series (Eight being the first), if you choose so when starting the game (or changing your character at any point after). They, alongside their faithful Smallfry companion, journey through The Crater under the watch of the now retired Cap'n Cuttlefish, clearing fuzzy ooze before falling into the depths of a hidden Alterna, and going on a search for the now missing Inkling alongside the rest of the NNSS while trying to figure out what's going with all this fuzzy ooze. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ oc stuff :) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - A dome Octo (specifically they are a Coconut Octopus), made their way to the splatlands during the first wave of those who left due to the Inkantation. (at the good ol' age of 9..ish, they're around 15-16 at the start of s3) - Still has a purple-ish tint to their eyemask, more near the bottom before it fades to a darker almost black near the top, as well as a slight hint of green to their sclera in certain lighting (sort of glowing in the dark, pairing nicely with their psuedo-bioluminescent spots) - note for all my agents: their last names are from whoever adopted them, and the nickname in quotes is their agent number (or name in the case of anarchy with neo 3)

OC LORE!!! SUPER IMPORTANT!!
note: this lore is shifting and evolving as days go on and i find better ways to get the concept across, so some details may become inaccurate or obsolete


the general idea for anarchy here is
> they are a dome-born octo, not a splatlandian native. as dictated by their natural ink colour (a reddish-pink), the tinge of purple in their eyemask (has started to fade due to living in the desert for a good chunk of their lives, might note my hc for that later down*) and the slight green hue to their sclera, in both octo and kid form
> affected by the first inkantation event (s1) at around 9/10.
> ended up in the desert after making their way to the surface, likely alongside others before being seperated
> is affected either by a(n inkantation influenced) mental block or some sort of head injury that leaves them with no recollection of the domes
> finds a lone golden egg in the wake of a tornado. like the one night wave except all but one golden egg is smashed.
> said egg hatches into a lil baby smallfry.
> the two survive on their own for a while. end up coming into contact with a nearby salmonid school that at first tries to hunt them (not noticing the salmonid and/or assuming the worst of the situation before seeing how the two interact) before some sort of cordial relationship is set up (the newest detail added to their backstory, so im still flipping between them full on interacting with the school, or keeping interactions limited to keep building on the isolated and feral-ness of the siblings, with the salmonids being a more steady source of supplies than what they'd previously scavenged)
> eventually the two grow older and sharper, and start getting more bold. scavenging more, further, and in turn coming into contact with several splatlandian inkfish doing their own scavenges
> leading to those inkfish returning to splatsville with stories and bite marks (and not ones from a salmonid. he's not the one you need to worry about)
> eventually this gets around to the little subsect of splatsville that, in the last few years with the sudden influx of refugees, focuses on helping ex-dome octarians acclimate to the surface. and it seems like one might have slipped through the cracks

*because of the difference between (s3) player and enemy octolings, im saying that the purple mask colour common in the s2 and s2 rival octolings is due to their upbringing. specifically, the fact that they are underground and are lacking natural sunlight. something something the black of an inkfishes mask is meant to help reflect light or something like that. its basically an evolution thing that protects their eyes/vision or something, cant remember where i read that.
and because dome octos were raised in an environment where there was no need for that, the colour sort of bleached. they underwent some sort of rapid evolution, or thats just how all eyemasks would look after living without natural sunlight for long enough. either way the cause is the underground environment, and the darker pigment returns once they return to the surface and the brighter, harsher environment that required it in the first place
