Eyvik is an Ice dragon. He is mostly stationed at the port, to reduce the chance of skirmishes there and to act as a first line of defense against marine attacks. He works day shifts alongside the port master, a Serthis responsible for arranging, booking, and safely guarding the ships brought into Waterborne's harbor.

Fowey is a Fire Tundra, and a part-time member of the guard. He is usually involved in routine patrols around Inner Waterborne and, less commonly, Outer Waterborne. Fowey has a natural gift for helping others, and is a reassuring and entertaining presence to have around in an emergency. Like most Tundra dragons, Fowey doesn't fight without provocation. Even the older Serthris, who as a rule are more distrusting of dragons than the younger generations who founded Waterborne in its present form, tend to make an exception for Fowey.

Bodmin guards the pearls of Pearlcatcher dragons as his Charge, but he is very capable of protecting the town's square in addition to his small luggage depot and his true calling. His presence acts mostly as a deterrent against aggression in the center of the town, but if anything occurs, he will usually be prepared to defend the town square, and quick to summon the town's guards and its medics.
