p e r s o n a l i t y He is an artist, a writer, an expert weaver of reality and fiction. His guidance is to help his people, and for that his vision must be absolute. There will be no loose ends for his path, only careful and exacting prophecy. The classical definition pegs oracles as messengers to the gods, giving foresight to events. A living scrier to the terrifying tomorrow. To Orca, it meant an easy way to vie for power and social pull. What difference was there between prophecy and his own machinations? How laughably easy would it be to simply have his first vision, play it up, and pull strings to make it come true. Something simple, befitting of his first touch with the “divine.” Something that would draw eyes, but not too much scrutiny. ![]() It was funny until it worked. And worked again. And snowballed into a whirlwind of pure euphoria he never wanted to come down from. In such a short matter of time, Orca had seated himself upon a throne. A brittle, delicate thing, gilded yet made from spider’s silk. A simple, single misstep or an eye that sees too much, and it would break and send him plummeting, wingless, from the clouds. Once, he laughed and roared and belittled an oracle who made such a mistake. Now, he is in those same shoes. The key difference is he will not fall, not falter, not be found out. His visions come true, falsified or not. |

His words can embolden Starseekers into changing fate should Orca give them the implication the future is not set in stone. Without such encouragement, the same effect can be made. It all depends on what ear he leans to… And a well timed word is worth its weight in gold. Is it truly wrong to speak falsities to spur a Starseeker to make that first step towards bettering themself? Wrong to give those under his care something to look forwards to? As long as they keep themselves in line, he will nurture them, guide them, play god with what fragile scraps of influence he owns. A delicate balance, something where his focus must never waver. He is a liar, after all, and a beloved one at that. Respect can easily crack into rage, rage can fling him to the wastes, lose him the elation that comes from so easily holding dozens under his thumb. And they, for now, are none the wiser. Those who come too close to his truth, like Icarus, shall burn. Consequences for his actions? Not again. His word is law, his word is good, his word has no fault. It is carefully meted for safety and prosperity. He won’t let tragedy repeat itself, not when he was still gathering a fortune to atone. He will be forgiven, for he is loved. He is their benevolent oracle, seer unparalleled! |

He is no hero of old, no being without fault. He holds no doubt that behind every legend is a sea of blood, faded with time. Hands with purpose removed the unsavory, the dead unable to speak the truth. And thus, truth becomes fact. And thus, he will make his life legend while he yet lives, strings upon strings binding all that seek to bend his truth to original shape. Strings upon strings that could suffocate him, in turn. |

As a dragonet, Orca was always interested and invested in how the Starseeker community worked. He met one of his closest friends, Lunatum, through this interest.
Upon his seventh hatching-day (birthday), Orca ran for the Starlight Council - and got in. Climbing the ranks, slowly but surely Orca got more and more attention, recognition, and, more importantly, power. Orca promised justice for everyone if he could lead the Council. He wasn't exactly lying, just telling a half-truth. As he rose, he pulled Lunatum up the ranks with him. They were close friends - mates, even - and it seemed nothing could separate them. Well, except what could separate them. After an increase in prey near the Rising Moon Pride, Lunatum's home clan, Orca assigned them and others to hunt in the area. There was just one problem; he hadn't checked everything. Seeing a source of prey, he disregarded the many packs of wild beasts in the area and checked it as safe to hunt. Those wild beasts killed many of the Pride, including a majority of Lunatum's family. Heartbroken, they travelled home to help their Clan - and after finding out that Orca had primary caused the death, they strayed away from the Starseeker community and were rarely seen. Filled with grief and feeling the need for revenge, Orca set out with one goal in mind; reach the top and get Lunatum back. And, well, that's exactly what he did. |

"Quote goes here" Nowdays, Orca travels to far-out regions of Sornieth. He calls his home a little isolated cove in the Fishspine Reef, though he only returns to the depths when neccicary. Orca goes by the name Eclipse whenever he's afraid someone may recognise him. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Etiam aliquam ac sapien ut semper. ✬ Orca has gathered a plethora of treasures in his little cove that he plans to give to Lunatum when they finally return to him. He mistakenly believes that these gifts will help Lunatum forget all about his role in their family’s deaths, not realizing that if anything, throwing his wealth around so thoughtlessly would make things worse.
✬ The wild beasts that killed Lunatum’s family largely consisted of toridae. Orca blames them completely for what happened, ignoring his own role in the tragedy, and will now go out of his way to wipe out as many toridae as he can, even if there’s no gain from it.
✬ He has a scar across his chest, mostly hidden by his mane, that he claims he got while defending his mate from a Beastclan attack. In truth, it’s from when he was young and foolish. He tried doing a tricky aerial maneuver before he had quite mastered his wings and he crashed headlong into a cliff, resulting in the scar. But his lie makes him seem braver and stronger to others, which came in handy when he was climbing the ranks.
✬ He’s actually quite a talented artist and poet, but instead of actually nourishing these abilities, he puts them towards creating his false prophecies; he writes the prophecy with the same flow and rhythm he believes an ancient dragon seer would have used, and then he transcribes the prophecy to old parchment and expertly weathers it to make it seem hundreds or thousands of years old. Tragically, he could have easily gained the wealth and influence he desired if he had only focused on his artistic skills, but it never even occurred to him.
✬ His one redeeming quality is that he genuinely does want the best for his people…so long as they do as he says. He has several younger Starseekers who look up to him as a leader, and he dotes on them like a loving uncle, telling them stories and giving them small trinkets at festivals. If any of them dared to question him he’d crush them underfoot in an instant, but as long as they stay adoring and most importantly loyal, he does his best to care for his people and keep them happy and safe.

Author's Notes: Lunatum is a blue Wildclaw who uses she/they pronouns. Their name means 'Moonlight' in Latin. I have yet to get a dragon for her, and as such her appearance may change.
