You press yourself against the wall as the aberration stalks past. She turns right and you breathe a sigh of relief. Too soon, perhaps? Maybe. For she calls back to you as she continues through her tunnels under the plaguebringer’s domain. 'Children these days. Will you leave of your own accord, or will i get involved? Only time will tell.' With those ominous words she turns again, and the clicking of her claws fades. Do you turn Left or [ right ] You follow her, of course, turning right at the corner. The silence is eerie. The path continues. Where are you now? Starwood strand, says your watch. Under a bed and breakfast? Strange indeed. A room comes into view. Was that there before? Who cares? You step into the room. It looks like an office, but with a throne and... Two coffee cups on the desk. An aberration works here. Ashraven? Who knows. You consider turning back, but of course you don't. You begin your search and spot some papers marked 'confidential '. Do you read them? Of course you do.

Be wary, spies, for i can hear your breathing. Be wary, friends, for i hold grudges. Be wary, enemies, for these claws hold power. Be wary, world, for i will take it all. |

Ash was bored. So bored, in fact, that she had agreed to visit the tourmaline archives. Which wasn't helping. "Hello-o!" Called a cheery voice. The stupid librarian. " Yes? " "Ah, ash! Long time no see! Any specific books you -" " No. " she almost shouted. "Then how about this book on mirror dragons? You'll - " "Oh, whatever." Ash sighed, snatching the book and flicking it open, skimming the pages hurriedly. mirrors originated in plague, were they- Oh, who cared? wait. What if i go to plague? "No, honey." " But why??????????????? " she yelled, back home. "Because -" " oh, forget it. " Ash stomped into her room before the boredom set in again. I'm not letting her tell me what to do. I'm gonna go anyway. it's not far. She packed a small amount of food, some chests and more. By midnight she was ready. And by dawn she was there. "Who're you?" A mirror loomed over her, face wrinkled in disdain. "A fellow mirror." She replied , straightening up. "You smell of arcane." Another mirror sniffed. " Arcane, the witch flight. " "i know, i hated i-" "Witch!" More mirrors joined the two, chanting the terrible word over and over again. "What do we do with her?" Somebody asked. A fae snickered. "Only one thing we can do." That sounded ominous. "Soup?" "Soup. " That must be the wyrmwound. But wasn't it meant to be safe for one swim? The next day, ash staggered out of her cell, dragged to a strange... Thing. Was that the wyrmwound? She was pushed forwards, staggering, until the first mirror gave her a sharp shove in the middle of her wings. And she stumbled in. she screamed as the acid burnt at her until slowly her genes washed away like paint.... Was this death? No. A pain in her shoulder, a mane and a second snake-like tail erupted, and she almost fainted as a fae screamed "wait! She's turning! Get her out!" They hauled her out, checked her over, then pushed her back under. "Yup, she's dead." A voice said, and the footsteps faded. But was she? A hand pulled her out. A spiral. "Yup, that's the thing... Sometimes, you just don't die. And then..." The plauebringer's footsteps were audible for a second . "I survived!" She breathed. " Yes. But at a cost... " A second head sprouted from her shoulder, grinning evilly. "Hey. I'm raven. You're getting us back to arcane. And then i can show you the tunnels." Ash smiled. "Revenge?" "Revenge. " Raven confirmed. "But first.." "Mother raged, Mother cried, She didn't know WE survived! We'll show mother she was wrong, we'll -" " we're not plague-aligned, Raven. " "Oh yeahhhh..." |
