Another, more common form is known as Necrosis Yersinia, or "Dry Death" , named after the fact that this dragon decays while still alive. This rot is caused by a variation of gangrene that was commonly seen in those with the originating Yersinia plague. When a N. Yersinia decays, their scales and skin disintegrate into small flecks of dust, along with deeper tissues as it progresses. It is with these flecks that infection is transmitted. They tend to walk stiffly and slowly due to lack of moisture of the joints and skin, but they do not feel pain as their sensory nerves have been destroyed. It is because of their slowness that they are easier to quarantine than their B. Yersinia counterparts. This type is also odorless, making it very difficult to discern their proximity at night. A thing of note is that these dragons develop a tremor; it is not uncommon to see them with a cloud of blackness around them.

N. Yersinia possesses a notably strange way of spreading disease. During an encounter, a N. Yersinia will repeatedly flap its wings, causing a gale of rot to be blown in the victim's direction. Once this is inhaled, the warm moisture of the respiratory tract incubates the disease. For safety it is recommended that one wear a gas mask while in the presence of these creatures. In addition to this, they will lick and bite their own flesh to project dry rot and saliva into the eyes of a target.
