The youngest of a five-egg nest of all spirals, Akira spent their childhood in a tangle of long, slender bodies. When he grew up, growing restless, he left home to see the world. He headed north, and found himself in the Everbloom Gardens, a place warm and sunny and brimming with life--including many varieties of snakes, which he felt an immediate kinship with.
He met Newt--who saw him basking in the sun one afternoon and mistook him for an unusual, vibrant kind of snake--and the two swiftly hit it off. They bonded over their love for snakes, and soon grew very close.
They're a close pair, often found studying snakes or just basking in the sun together.
Name origin: Japanese
