'Someone who is dreadful and frightening.'
In the beginning the clan avoided Skelfir, due to his abrasive nature and scowling, hissing mouth. Even his beautiful melodies were haunting and spun images of pain and torture. His early life was fun of disappointment and after the accident he became a recluse. None brought him from his hovel until the glorious Hatigan was accepted into the clan. Her voice of pure gold enchanted anyone who heard her, ringing beautiful notes of joy, harmony and peace. She was loved by all, and she was loved most of all by Skelfir. He would follow her around the halls of the clan, skulking awkwardly in the shadows. Even his best attempts did not go unnoticed, Hatigan always knew he was there. Once finally she spoke to him, but his harsh reply startled and agitated her. He was accosted by her reaction, but still desperatly he tried to express his admiration towards her. It was all for nought: he only knew pain; she only knew joy. She was unable to understand, so she fled from him.
Shattered by the rejection, Skelfir returned to his home, singing for hours in anguish. Loudly his voice rang in the caverns, bellowing and beautiful, a song of sorrow and regret. It did not go unnoticed by his love who heard the emotional, deep notes clearly. She returned to him finally understanding his wishes through his song. In time they will sing in beautiful harmony. Offspring of this pair have beautiful singing voices, but at times sing too loudly off-key.
