Fog rises above the swamp and creates a curtain over the marshy ground, obscuring the reeds and trunks of the dogwood trees. The sound of frogs croaking and the shriek of crickets the only sound you can hear over your own breath in the sprawling marshland. (Swathes of moonlight cut through ) The drooping branches of willows and towering alders block the faint light of the moon and make it all but impossible to see. The earth squishes under your feet and your boots come away muddy as you move towards a distant eerie green light, hoping something will be there and you will not be alone.

Stepping over a rotten log, you feel something small and quick flash against your ankle and you almost trip into the muck as you stumble. A soft cackle carries over the fog and breaks through the pounding of the blood in your ears as the frogs fall mysteriously silent.
