Biography
Persephone the Striker of the Sheafs of Grain and Cerberus the Ferberus.
_________________________________________ The queen of the underworld and the dead, daughter of Zeus and Demeter and the wife of Hades. She is the chthonic goddess of spring and vegetation, whose name is not safe to speak aloud and is thus known by many alternative names including Kore, which means 'the maiden' and Despoina, 'the mistress of the house'. She was once abducted by Hades, who was in love with her, with the permission of her father Zeus. It is said that Persephone was gathering flowers in a field when Hades came to abduct her, bursting through a cleft in the earth. Demeter, finding out her daughter had disappeared, searched for her all over the earth with Hecate's torches, neglecting the earth and, in the depth of her despair, causing nothing to grow. It was Helios, having seen everything, whom eventually told Demeter what had happened and at length she |
_________________________________________ discovered the place of her abode. Zeus, pressed by the cries of the hungry people and by the other deities who also heard their anguish, forced Hades to return Persephone to her mother and the world above. And while he did comply with the request, he first gave young Persephone some pomegranate seeds to eat. It was then that Hermes arrived to retrieve her but, having already had a taste of the food of the underworld, she became obliged to spend a third of each year there, and only the remaining part with the gods above. It is because of this that every year, Demeter’s agony at being apart from her daughter causes the vegetation and the flora of the world to wither and only when both are reunited, does her joyousness bring the vegetation of the earth to bloom and blossom once again. |

Greek Mythology Project
Dragons won't be necessarily related but rather they will have listed parents and offspring matching the genealogy of the gods as described in the Theogony, which will usually entail breeding projects. In the case of parthenogenesis I'll name the other parent Parthenogenesis.
